Ilulissat is a popular town in Greenland, with beautiful landscapes, colorful little houses surrounded by countless icebergs.
Coming at Ilulissat in the summer, sitting besides a hot coffee kettle in the evening and listening to the icebergs is my dream” Russian photographer Maria Sahai said.
I was lucky to travel to many parts of the world, and I chose photography as a means to share the beauty of people and lands I discovered.
Located on the west coast of Greenland, far 250 km from north of the Arctic Circle, this is a narrow bay covered with large icebergs floating on the water.
Icebergs from glacier are often too large – up to 1 km in height, too high to float down to the bay and trapped in shallow water.
The smaller icebergs move to the north along the ocean currents before turning to the south and entering the Atlantic.
