A driver & his helper man on a truck was swept away when he attempted to cross the bridge when unexpectedly water came & swept away the truck in Beas River in northern India in the recent heavy rain.
Video of the incident, which took place in the town of Kullu, a small town in the northern state of Himachal Pradesh, shows the trucks across the gushing stream of swept away. The river and the helper are struggling in the truck.
Local said that as he was attempting to cross the bridge unexpectedly flood water came gushing stream that swept away the truck with the driver and helper.
Torrential rain has led to floods in Himachal Pradesh Uttarakhand and nearby areas of Madhya Pradesh although Kerala was the area thought to be worst hit.
Incessant rainfall in north India claimed at least 11 lives in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh. A red alert was issued in Punjab. Himachal Pradesh has been worst affected, with eight people having lost their lives in the state alone.
Hundreds, including school students, remained stranded across Himachal Pradesh after heavy rain lashed the state for the third consecutive day, triggering landslides and snapping over 200 road links, officials told IANS.
