In a bizarre and tragic incident, a man recently led his elderly father-in-law to his death by recklessly opening the doors of an elevator shaft when the lift had not yet arrived.
Surveillance footage from the apartment building in an unnamed Chinese city shows the two men waiting together for an elevator. While waiting for the lift to arrive, the son-in-law apparently got impatient. Rather than taking the stairs, he decided instead to use a key to unlock the elevator doors to have a look inside the shaft.
After he did so, the father-in-law walks into the shaft, apparently believing that the lift had finally arrived. Instead, he fell 8 meters to his death.
When the door opened, the father thought that the ladder had arrived, so he began to move forward.
Maybe because of poor vision or unusual use of elevators, he did not notice the dark inside without a cabin, so he stepped straight inside. When the son-in-law reacts and hands out his father-in-law has fallen straight. It is known that the elevator chamber is 8 meters high and the dead man died soon after, although the building protection team quickly called people to rescue.
However, many netizens also expressed doubts about the son-in-law's actions and questioned why he opened the door when the elevator had not arrived yet. Why can he go straight inwards? It is said that the son is responsible for things rather than the management of the building.
