Many said she was crazy and a freak, but all she did was trying to provide the best life for her mom.

In a small village in Vietnam, no one in the neighborhood doesn’t know about the “crazy” Dieu, a 68 year-old woman living by selling lotto on a small market. The women now is living with her mother, Ms.Chi, 90 years old in a crippled house near a large river.

She always smiles even when people throw fits or swear at her.

In order to have money, “crazy Dieu” has to sell at least 50 pieces of lotto everyday. At the age 68, she still have to earn money on the street harshly. If the trading is good, she has money to buy rice for her and her mom. In bad days, the two poor woman just skip their dinner and wait for kind neighbors wh give them some food to survive.

“Crazy” Dieu told us “I was smart but her (her mother) didn’t have money so I have to drop out and do eeverything to have food to eat. It was hard – it’s still hard to be honest. My father passed away when I was really young so we didn’t have much support from others.”

“They said I am crazy, I was a freak. I know that. But what’s the matter? I’m crazy but I love my mom, I don’t want her to see me cry, so I laugh all the time since then.”

Her mom understands everything she is enduring, but she doesn’t have any other way.

“They said I am crazy, I was a freak. I know that. But what’s the matter? I’m crazy but I love my mom, I don’t want her to see me cry, so I laugh all the time since then.”

After a serious accident, half of her body is paralyzed, not to mention her heart disease. She is worried for her daughter so much, but can’t do anything.

She points at a plastic chair “Dieu saw people threw it away so she took it. You see, his is how we survive. Yesterday, a kind neighbor gave us a brand new electric fan. But, we don’t dare to use it, we’re afraid of a large electricity bill”.

“I can’t do any thing to help her, how can I put more on her shoulder?”

There are still times when they didn’t have anything to eat. At that times, Dieu just don’t stop smiling while her mother silently cry. Having each other now is still their best and greatest support.
