Russian photographer Kristina Makeeva captured beautiful images of hot air balloons in an arid area of Cappadocia.
Cappadocia is one of the most famous wonders of Turkey and was recognized by UNESCO as World Natural Heritage in 1985.
Despite some security concerns, the city of Cappadocia, Turkey, still receives millions of visitors each year, who come to perform the dream of landing in the fairytale.
Cappadocia is located in central Turkey, about 290 km from Ankara. This place possesses unique terrain including rocks, hills, formed from the ancient period about 3-9 million years ago.
Hot air balloon is one of the most special means of transportation in Turkey. This vehicle can carry up to 20 passengers if it is a large size. However, the most popular ones are balloons carrying about 3-5 people.
Cappadocia was voted one of the top 10 hotspots by Travel and Leisure Magazine. The 'giant ball' tour is about 2.5 km long, departing from the town of Goreme and landing in the village of Cavusin.
Many visitors converging in Cappadocia just to get once of travelling by airship and watch the city breathtakingly from above.
At 600 metres altitude, you will find the Cappadocia rocky plateau that appears to be an undulating land amidst clusters of rocks 10-40 metres high, which are surrounded by volcanic mountains and covered with snow.
The tourists will arrive at the destination in Cappadocia at midnight. Then the fire spots are kindled and the balloons began to fly to legendary Anatolia.
The sun is rising, the light is clear. Visitors begin to see the majestic scenery of the valley. In the bright sunshine, the Cappadocia rocky plateau is adorned with dozens, hundreds of balloons.
The best time to visit Cappadocia is from April to October. At this time the sky is clear and the breezes appear at dawn.
You will have to pay about $ 250 for a 60-90 minute tour of the balloon.
If you do not have the opportunity to admire the valley from above, you can opt for a cup of coffee and watch a beautiful sight as the balloons fly up...
...or sip a bit of wine and fruit between the beautiful scene.
