Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers in the world.

When breast cancer spreads into the breast tissue, it it is called invasive breast cancer. Some people have “oncogene cancer in place” – no cancer cells develop in body. Most cases of breast cancer develop in women over 50 years old but young women are sometimes affected. Breast cancer can develop in men although this is very rare.

What do you really know about breast cancer, about the life of the sick person? By sharing Sarah Furlong, a 28-year-old girl who lives in Australia, has been treating breast cancer for nearly two years, you will understand more about the disease that makes women worry.

Everything starts with a lump

Sarah first discovered a small change in the chest and left nipple before showering

Sarah first discovered a small change in the chest and left nipple before showering. But, she said, it was only a change related to the menstrual cycle. “I took off my shirt and thought, it was a little different, and then I checked my right breast, it was the same,” Sarah recalls. “The nipple is pulled in and slightly down … I did not really think much about it that day, I just showered and the next day I called my mother and told her. That made me worried. I was as aware of the severity of what was happening to me. ”

Sarah has made great efforts so that the process of breast cancer treatment does not stall youth

Sarah decided to schedule an appointment with a general practitioner to check for lumps. They asked her how it felt to be different from her previous chest test. After performing ultrasound and biopsy with lumps and inflammatory lymph nodes, Sarah fell into a state of extreme confusion. “I have a feeling I know what the ultrasound results are. I’m not a pessimist, but I just feel that something is wrong with the way my lymph nodes are tested.

The next step is to see a surgeon

Sarah was also smart enough to do something smart. She and her lover successfully performed in-vitro fertilization before she faced 16 treatments with two different chemotherapy drugs. This will give her more opportunities to have children in the future. Sarah has made great efforts so that the process of breast cancer treatment does not stall youth lives.

Sarah is currently commencing 25 radiation sessions before breast reconstruction for another 6 months.

“I plan to have surgery in April next year so it’s going to be a complete day for me, so I do not know if I’m too emotional or not. It’s just another step in the whole process that I need to go through. ”
